Portage 6/22

<t>Did a little motor testing and trolled for steelhead for a couple hours in front of the ditch with orange mag spoons and such without a fish. Did get a hit on a board, but unlikely it was a steelhead the way it dragged back. Not many boats out, but would have liked to make the run offshore with ...

Portage 6/27 AM

<t>Not too much to say...1/1 steelhead in front of the ditch. Not sure what we were doing wrong because based on radio talk there were a lot more hookups from everyone else. Ran mag spoons, plugs, the whole kitchen sink at all depths. Would have liked to make the run deep but waves and other issues ...

7/14 east Chicago

Went for a quick run out 18 miles to 115-125 fow tonight after work.  Went 10 for 17. Lost a big king about 100 feet from the boat.  Dipseys were very hot. Riggers pulled a couple. Lost quite a few on 10 color. I was running illinois waters on the michigan border.

7-18 Portage Tournament Report

<r>Fished the 3rd leg of the HCC club tournaments yesterday with Alvin (Kingme), one of my clients and his father, and a coworker, as real life has decimated my crew lol. We probably had one of the top 5 days of LM fishing ever for us - it was great, at least early. We went straight north out of ...

7/19 east Chicago

<t>We went 17 for 27 today. My little guy turned 10 today and he got a coho, chinook, steelhead, and a laker. Would've been nice for for him to complete it with a brown. Fished illinois michigan border in 120 fow. Gnats were insane. Got a big 41" greaser too. All in all a great day with family and ...

7/19 east Chicago

From east Chicago is about 18 miles north to hit 120 in illinois waters. I was literally fishing on the illinois Michigan border. It's a long ride but it's been good out there lately.

7-18 Three corners NE

<t>Went out Sunday morning with the wife and launched a little before 7 out of Portage to ran to the 3 corners. Lake was still a little rough so took a bit to get to the setup spot but put lines in right at the corner and started a NE troll. Was not seeing much on the graph and no action on the ...

7-24-21 New Buffalo

<t>Got out this morning getting on the lake about 7 AM CDT so not a super early start. I was going to head to the place I was fishing last week but it was about a 20 mile run and with the potential thunderstorms in the afternoon and the lake being a little too rough to run wide open, so we went to ...
