First Spring on salmon

Post by Chudson29 »

I introduced myself last summer/fall. I never caught anything trying in the fall. I got my Lund 1850 out of its winter hibernation last night and it started right up. I am going up to Burns harbor early Friday morning to see how it goes. I have been reading the comments and still learning and soaking it all in. I hope I can post a pic of my first salmon ever on my boat.
I am assuming anything caught will be all coho correct? No Chinook or anything?
I was going to attend the event Saturday but feel i am just too new. Thanks to all for the advice on my last post. I made some changes as well as strategy... We'll see. :)

There is really a chance to catch any of the species of salmon/ trout right now. There should be some kings showing up sometime soon. The majority however will be coho. As for Saturday you may want to hop in someone's boat that has room and you could seriously shorten your learning curve! Good luck out there!

I am hoping 7:30 or 8.. I have a 2 hr drive so it will mostly depend on when my wife gets in the truck. She's pretty good about being on time for fishing or turkey hunting though.
