I'm the same way, I dont want to believe that it'll be chocolate milk out 3 miles but it prob will be or more even.

If it’s is really dirty is it worth fishing and if so what do you guys recommend trying?

Typically shuts down fishing near shore. I still plan on trying Saturday, depending okln satelites though.

Where do you find the current satellite pics of the lake to determine how it looks?

I say try it if you are set on fishing but have some realistic expectations. Use baits with rattles to try and get a reaction strike. Other option is to head offshore until
You see some clean water. Could be 5, 10, 15 plus miles out. Typically beyond 15 miles offshore the water is always pretty clean. I remember a few years ago the water nearshore was chocolate and in 200 FOW the fishing was on fire. It’s a long trip and you need to be safe but they will likely be on the edge of dirty / clean water.

If south winds it may be rough offshore. Be careful!! There will still be some nearshore so go after it and let us know. I’ll be on inland lakes looking for Crappie and Bluegill.

South winds look to be hummin good. I would not go offshore in an average / small boat (under 24'). Looking at the wind forecast, I would guess to see 3's 5-7 miles out, maybe closer. Completely doable in the summer if your experienced, but now if something goes wrong, that water is cold and your not going to live long if you end up in the drink.

Yeah thanks for clarifying Dirty. If fish are there it’s not always worth it. Remember the Flemish Cap in perfect storm. I wouldn’t go out there this time of year in my 2150 Lund. Try nearshore and hopefully the fish are still hanging around. Let’s se what the satellites show in the am.
