It will likely be Sunday yes. Since there will be a Captains meeting, I recommend just signing up just prior to that during registration (5-6am). For any questions etc - for Michigan City call Bruce Brown at (574) 360-8741. For Portage contact me (219) 682-5575.

I'm gonna be there with my 16' Sea Lion.
I have only tried to fish like this twice before and have only caught one dink.
Have been trying to get out the last couple of weeks, but life gets in the way.
I'll try to stay out of the way as I fumble around. What radio channel are we using?

Thanks to everyone who came out - it was a great tournament and a wonderful get together. I hope everyone had fun. I think for various reasons turnout was low this year, understandable yet surprising. Fishing was darn good though. Almost everyone brought a limit in. It was great seeing everyone and tight lines!

I will start the tournament reporting and hopefully others will follow. I got to captain my old boat (Reel Dirty) as Brent Pezan had commitments requiring his time. I am grateful to him to be able to run the boat one last time. With that being said, we didnt have much of a plan. or tackle for the matter but made it work. We exited burns ditch and trolled towards Gary Light, saw alot of boats once we got close to Gary and turned around and trolled back to Portage. There was probably never a boat within a mile of us, we were all alone. That was our day - 12 to 25 FOW.
We worked a variety of baits but settled on all body baits pretty early. Our deeper baits did better than shallower - Meaning flickershads/Tail Dancers vs thin fins. I am not even sure we caught a fish on a Thin Fin today. Maybe one or two. Plenty of other folks did way better
. Overall, a tremendous day on the water with great friends. Its been a long winter!
Lots of other guys fishing - not sure why they didnt join us......

This tourney is always a little early for me to have the boat ready for the season but I follow it every year and I'm glad to hear that coolers were full and good time was had by all! Got the 3 HCC tourneys on the calendar!
