Where is the Action At

Glad the board is back. Looks like a lot was lost.

So where is the action at?

Alot was lost, we will bring it back, perhaps in different ways. At least we have most of it back that is imporant for most people. Trying to figure out the future is the most diffilicult part.

We lost about a year's worth of forum posts and signups. However, if this had to happen, having it happen in August/September, the slowest part of fishing season, is about the best possible outcome. I haven't been out fishing in over a month now, but I do see that the Michigan City buoy is showing a pretty strong thermocline, and the Chicago shore angler groups on facebook look like they are catching fish from the shore over there, so I would try below 30 feet outside of the harbors and see what happens if I were going. Hopefully next week Saturday if the weather cooperates

I've been out of St Joe twice this week. Lots of cold water but slow fishing for me. A few smaller Kings and a nice Steelhead. Lost on ripper that I assume was a mature King. I fished from 60ft out to about 110ft and tried in close for awhile without any hits. I heard of a few being caught in the river but I didn't see anyone hook up while I was there. No perch either in the cold water.

User Lund and I tried casting from shore after dark at East Chicago the other evening, no hits for us on crankbaits or glow spoons, guy next to us had a couple hits on a glow spoon but not much going on over there yet.

Fished yesterday 9/13 in front of the ditch and port. Lines set by 6am, stayed mostly shallow, probably should have pushed out. Fishing was slow on the radio, picked up a drum early, then a surprise steelhead in 45FOW between ditch and portImage, then this guy showed up just after 9:30am right in front of the ditch as I was clearing lines. I didnt even realize it had been hit, I looked over and saw the last downrigger had released after packing away the other rods, grabbed the rigger to bring the ball up and thats when the rod started dancing.

Marked a lot on the bottom from 35-50'

We are having a banner year. Did a lot of fishing out of New Buffalo and really letting them have it...
