We made our 3rd and final trip up north on a Tues-Wed this year. We wanted to avoid the crowd, and it worked out fairly well. Unfortunately, the warm water moved back in before we went, so fishing slowed from reports just prior. We started in Manistee at the pierheads, and my wife boated our one and only king there. We then slid back down to Ludington and she got another king in the harbor, a rip roaring son of a gun too! Then my boy took a tank of a king, and finished with a smaller one. Our only time offshore, we were 3mi out in 60fow, we almost got caught by a bad storm. We made it back in the harbor with minutes to spare. Whew. Good trip, enjoyed the food and scenery, and cant say enough about the fishery up north. Another year passing by now.
