Off Shore Tackle OR20 Snap Weight System

I've been looking at different ways to fish depths of the water column for early spring salmon/trout and ran across the Off Shore Tackle OR20 Snap Weight System. In the past I've just used inline keel sinkers and don't really have too many complaints with them. But this seems pretty easy and similar to fishing with planer boards rigged with Off Shore snaps, reel in up to the snap, unclip and reel in to the fish. I have not used them on the big lake. I did use them for Walleye on different lakes and they worked well. If I remember correctly, you use the 50/50 system. You let the lure out 50 feet, attach the weight and let out another 50 feet. The weight and speed will determine how deep the lure goes. I'm sure you can find a chart online.

They are the ticket out on lake Erie for the walleye. For spring coho, they are another way to get a dodger fly just down a little under the surface short behind a board. We have had good luck also using the wieghts and dragging small scorpion spoons for the spring fish.
