It would be so funny if someone brought an airhorn tonight to the meeting and about 40 seconds into Brian Breidert's presentation. Give it a toot! Tell him that's from me.... "Get to the point!"
I have a 2:45 wake-up call scheduled for tomorrow or I'd come up to MC tonight and bring my own whistle.
Anyway, I hope bunches of you go, listen and comment. My guess is the death of the Hoosier King thing is a done deal, though it's not too late to change course. Bureaucracies don't like changing course.
Probably more of a chance to change what the "freed up hatchery space" can be used for. Indiana already stocks a bazillion steelhead. Why stock more? Over the years there have been "surplus" cohos (mostly from Michigan) stocked in the southern basin and from a layman's point of view, it seemed when those fish were 2+ age we had a much better summer fishery, offshore. Who doesn't like a cooler full of 6 pound 'hos.
Be civil with Ben and Brian - their hearts are in the right place. But when they start talking drivel - toot the airhorn!
By the way. Early call because I'm heading for 53-ish X 23-ish for tomorrow. Long haul. Friday, I'll be at Portage, nearshore, dodging T-storms.
Tonight's meeting.

Shouldn't meetings like this take place before, not after the fact? Kinda like going to jail for 3 years and after you serve your time then you get a trial.

I would like to hear how it went. I was unable to make it due to family reasons unfortunately.
Boatless!
