The river has nice cement wall with a walk way on the west side. They must take a few as we had always seen fishermen going out there to fish towards evening. Huron is a really nice spot to fish from, also Vermillion which is around 15 miles east.
The larger female walleye like our salmon move out into the central basin and go east. On their return trip they stage in front of rivers that they run for spring spawning, so have to come back thru Huron and Vermillion every fall. Night fishing has really taken on out there and last year we fished in 10-12ft of water to take some really nice big ones. The picture is my wifes big brute she caught on our first night trip last year.

Here is my new base line for 2017. Going to be a great year when it starts like this.
She was just a hair under 30 inches and full of eggs.

Yes we do Steve. They taste just as good as the smaller ones. Ohio had some good articles about their fish. since they stock walleye they do recommend the taking of the bigger females. Almost all the fish this time of year in that area will be the larger females. There is some males mixed in earlier but this late its almost all the big females.
