I decided to go out of south haven instead of holland because of a late start and didnt want to miss the bite. We started in 120 and trolled out to 152 northwest troll turned took our first fish on the turn and turned back to the north east and back up to 100 fow. The bite shut off around 930 for us. We ended 6 for 8. 4 kings and 2 coho. Both coho on a reg size green and yellow spoon on a 150 copper. 2 kings on a 300 copper with a blue dolphin reg size. The other kings on a dipsey on 1.5 setting back 110 with what looks to be a home made mag spoon. We also missed a screamer, took a ton and came unbuttoned....It was a beautiful day to be out!

I was fishing there10 days ago or so. I really liked the town and the area. It is neat and very attractive to visitors. I really liked the ramp and the proximity to deep water. A short ride to 150 ft plus water.
The weather was poor as usual for me and only got to fish one of the 2 days. A very nice chinook was taken along with a few others was taken on this trip. It was taken off a rigger down and back 41ft. A DW mag modified blue dolphin took the fish. Another nice one fell to a 10 color dragging a DW mag orange crush icicle spoon. The big fish was 19lbs and 12 oz according to my scale. I want to go back and visit again.

That is really glaringly so true. Good for some coho at 30 inches long it is a poor king box for sure. I am looking for a 3 footer now.
I was impressed with South Haven with the all the sights and things to do and see along the river fronts. Stores, restaurants, tiki bars, regular type bars make the little town resort like. Looks like a good place to take family and friends on a holiday. It is one of those places wives and girl friends would be in their element while you are out fishing. You can rent rooms and have your boat slipped very nearby for that quick get away to the lake. The people there seem to be very friendly towards visitors and are happy to get your money.
