New rig coming!!!!!!

Post by Ltrain »

Hello, first I want to say a big thank you to Webster for all his input . I sent in the down-payment today for my first( and last) brand new boat. I am going with an Angler Qwest 22 ft Fish and Cruise Pro bigwater tritoon. Going to name her the Black Pearl and I hope I'm not stepping on Bills toes if I fly the Jolly Roger on occasion. I'm bringing all my electronics and motors over from my current rig.
Build time is about 8 wks now, i ordered her out of L&R marine in Shipshewana, truly a painless process, Arlin was great to work with.

Very excited to say the least. The south end will now have two tritoon fishing machines prowling the water.

I've fished the AQ tritoons several times. If I were looking for something newer-bigger- I'd certainly give one full consideration!

Thanks for all the positive replies and well wishes guys. I honestly never thought I would getting a new boat in my lifetime. I was lucky that I was able to order one without motors or electronics and bring mine over from my current rig, that definitely helped keep the price where it needed to be to make this happen. I also like reading comments like Brother Natures giving the rig positive reviews and of course Websters input was invaluable. Since I'm only getting one shot at this there was a lot of pressure to get it right. I was torn between a Thunderjet for the trolling space but I couldn't get past the really small front deck. I also wanted a Warrior 21-21 but could never afford a new one and the used ones are pretty rare and then I would be dealing with the fact that it's used and more money to fix things. I guess the AQ just checked all the right boxes for me. Can't wait til it arrives and I can rig her up. I admit it will be a bit bittersweet tearing the old Baron down, I just finished getting her just how i wanted, a 2 year project. I will post reviews once i get her wet. Thanks again guys.

99% sure my brother is going to take it. He has a 1991( around) crestliner Phantom sst 216 or 206 that he's going to be taking his Suzuki 150 off of and putting it on the Baron. The phantom has a wider beam but the Baron has higher sides and he likes that deep v. He will be selling the phantom and tandem trailer, no motor or electronics. It has a 36v minn kota on the front( non gps) . He will let it go cheap . It's not in perfect cosmetic shape but it's functional and wouldn't take much to get right again Probably have to wait until my boat comes in then all the motor swaps take place. Let me know if you're interested or if you know anyone that would be. I'll probably put à classified ad up once we get some pics and talk about it more.

Copy that! I'm definitely interested if price is right. I have a spare big motor I'm looking to strap on something.
