Tried Portage on 8/4. Headed north and ran along the Illinois/Michigan state lines until finding 100 fow. Setup and began trolling north. No takes after an hour so turned back and trolled south for a bit then back north. Around 8am had all 5 bites within about 45 min. Went 4/5 on the day. 3 on spin doctor with green/blue fly. One  10” coho on a trout rig down deep and broke off a very nice fish on a downrigger slider. Slider was around 30 feet down with wonderbread magnum, the other 3 bites came off dipsys running 150-200 feet back. Slow day. 2 coho and 1 lake trout in the box, small coho had to go back.

Thanks for the report. With all the wind lately good to see some fishing around still.
