After numerous aborted attempts (due to weather on available days off) to make it to Lake Erie toward the end of the summer, I finally got in a trip to Catawba SP yesterday. I didn't get the numbers I hoped for, but I did pick up my biggest walleye ever. It was 29 inches and weighed in at 10.1 pounds. Caught him trolling a Reef Runner 800 Pink Lemonade 65 feet back in 23 feet of water. Had a hit on a Husky Jerk Clown 100 feet back, but lost him.
The big fella was the only fish I boated, but what a way to shut down my season. I launched out of Catawba, headed straight west then trolled NE. I wanted to go out near the islands, but the chop started getting a little heavier than I felt comfortable tackling for my first trip to Erie in my Lund 1775. So, I played it safe, which likely resulted in my limited catch. I did mark several fish in close, but couldn't get much action. The water was dingy, so maybe that played a part In the limited catch.

A few weeks ago I went with a friend on his boat out of Huron, Ohio as part of a walleye fishing education seminar. We picked up a two man limit of mostly 20-22 inch fish, but I got a 7-pounder on the last fish of the day. We fished mostly Reef Runner 800s with purple and deep red being the hot colors. What a great day that was. I've added some gear and experience that I can't wait t put to use chasing Cohos to the west of me and walleye to the east of me as soon as the ice comes off in the Spring.
I cannot wait for early Spring.

Nice work! I also got the opportunity to get out to Lake Erie late in November this year with Fowlhook, Brooch and Big Treble. Played hooky from work this Monday and fished out there Sunday and half a day Monday. Ended up catching 23 walleye on Sunday and another eight on Monday before noon. Ended up being a great trip with manageable weather and lots of walleye for the freezer.
