Potage 7-5AM and 7-6PM

Post by Jums »

Action is SLOW but did manage to land a few. Tried to target weed beds and saddles and caught either a few dinks or nothing at all using that strategy. So decided to mix it up and just start hunting for them checked out the usual spots between doughnut and the pink house marked a hump here and there but not much dropping lines for. Ended up just starting at 20 FOW and letting the south winds blow us out to try and start patterning them. 25-33 FOW seemed to be what produced the best, and all the dinks from last year seemed to turn into Jumbos with majority of the fish caught were around 10" with 14" being the biggest of the weekend and lost what I'm guessing around a 16" at the boat. Still early hopefully in the next few weeks they come in hot. Best rigs were yellow and red willie nillies tipped with minnows and Chartreuse hooks with minnows.
