Hello team,

Super excited to be starting the spring season on Sunday. Hoping the wind/waves participate in my plan.

I was hoping you all would be willing to share what you are using right now for coho. It's my first spring back after quite a bit of time and as much as I love my dad (who is now in Texas)... I am fishing a 1990s/2000s spread which might be fine, but I would love to hear from you all.

Not fishing now, but when the boat goes in: Thin fins / fish, flicker shads, bay rats. Dodger and peanut fly later if I really need to. Great to see you back in the game with your own boat - pretty awesome

Haha love it! Thank you so much. It is basically the spread I sent my dad to confirm how good/bad it is. Gotta love the dodger fly/peanut fly combo - classic. Any color recommendations? Feel free to PM if that is secret info

I am so happy to have my own boat now and to be back out there. Please know the help is much appreciated.

Fluorescent colors seem to be the most productive. Orange, red, chartreuse, green or any combination of those colors. Last year a Fluorescent orange J-9 (jointed) Rapala and a small white Hot n Tot were real productive early.

There is a local who is posting some early season coho vids on YouTube. He is fishing the ditch area and the discharge water area over at Gary light. His channel is No Secrets Fishing. I am watching a few of them because he is fishing the south end of the lake in a small boat. Good place for you start fishing again.

Not much has changed in the spring time coho game on the south end. Sure, some lures get hot but, basically its the same thing that we been doing since the 70s..lol. Orange and red will always catch spring fish, and keep lures in the top 10 ft of water is the game plan 90% of the time. Good luck and tight lines.

As far as peanut fly color goes- blue/ copper was really hot for me last spring . Red with black squiggle thin fins did well for me too.
