We started at the mouth of the ditch. Caught 8 perch in 16-24’ of water. Headed over to the donut and caught another 3 before heading in for the day. It’s almost time!

Good job on finding some! Was going to go out today and tomorrow but after the storms and today’s waves will wait until later in the week.

I just use regular perch rigs or flies tied onto a 3” leader. Minnows on the bottom worked best!

Launched out of Portage on Tues. and worked the mouth of the ditch in 18-22 FOW but got nothing. Seemed to be marking fish off the bottom in areas, but no takers. Worked a controlled drift to stay in the reported productive zones, but nada.
Put in almost 2hrs. before impending rains chased me off.
Aside: There were hardly any boats parked at the launch around 8AM, and I’m noting the lack of perch fishing reports...anywhere. Being new here, is this normal, or is it that the weather and/or the lack of perch activity in shallower depths? I need all the help I can get...ha.

The perch conversation is usually pretty quiet. Sometimes it can be alot of work finding the perch, then word gets out and 80 people are stacked on top of you. Perch are out there now just have to hunt for them. Where the perch are depth wise will likely be based on water temp, they could be in 10' or 50' or anywhere in between.
