Ditch 8/28

One man adventure from the ditch! Three riggers set to keep it easy, set at 50', 45', 40. Coldest water I saw was 57 degrees but saw marks from the bottom up to 35'.  Moonshine Super Glow spoons on each.  Things got a little nutty but ended up 5 for 6 on Kings and 1 drum.  Released 1 small king still silver, kept a 2 years old that started to darken and 3 3 year olds (I assume) 12, 15, 16lbs. Larger fish were hens full of mature eggs. Been awhile since I fished solo, what a cluster a times! Once sun climbed up marks were gone an fish shut off. Nice to see some Kings in Portage again, got beat to hell but it was worth it!

Awesome job and smart decision with the riggers solo. Ben said they should all be 2 yr olds in portage this year. If that's the case, next year's main run is looking fun.

Pretty substantial for 2 year old fish but perhaps I am just thinking of years passed when anything in the teens was big for a returning King at Portage. I might be getting to old to run that solo again but damn if a couple of days later I've about talked myself it!  My fishing partner is back to save me from myself....

Good trip and thanks for the report.  I fish solo most of the time and it does make it interesting but very rewarding when you have success.
