FISH SCALE

I have a digital scale that is hard to read. Can you guys recommend any good ones? I might just stay away from digital and get a good analog scale.

Steve, I have a Berkley brand digital scale that we use, with a large readout that helps us old guys. I've had it about 4 yrs and still working, just replaced the 9V battery. The body is gray in color I'm not sure if it is even still available. Rudey

Do not keep a scale on the boat, it restricts the size of fish stories.

Rudey is right on with the Berkley scale. I really like mine. Easy to use and read.

The only problem is that it reads 45 lbs. more then I need! Lol. Rudey

Its all a question of semantics Rudey, 45 pounds of coho or 45 pound coho. It is all how you twist it into your reports. Makes you hope the readers and the listeners are only partially tuned in. Either way 45 pounds is a lot of fish!

I've had a half dozen digitals over the years. None lasted all that long. Broke, LED crapped out, batteries froze and broke, any number of things. I finally bought a really good spring scale, all aluminum and stainless. I've had it four or five years now and keep it in the glove compartment up by my radio, not in a storage compartment. I'd suggest a 20 or 25 pound maximum. When you catch one big enough to bottom it out - good for you!
