Hey everyone!

First I'd like to thank everyone for sharing information on here. It has definitely helped me to craft my game plan when the stars align and I'm able to make it on the water. I've got two little ones (still too young to join me on LM fishing trips), so my time on the water is definitely limited. This makes your generosity in sharing information all that much more appreciated. I finally decided to stop lurking in the shadows and join the board. I'll gladly return the favor on the days that I'm actually able to get out!

I've lived in the south 'burbs of Chicago for most of my life, and have been fishing most of my life, but only started fishing Lake Michigan in the last decade or so. It all started out with my brother getting spooled by a king from the rocks in Racine, WI, which did nothing but embolden him to go after the one that got away. We towed our 16.5' Sylvan Backtroller up to Racine a week later during the fall run and on our first pass (using our walleye gear from fishing Lake Shelbyville) I hooked and landed a 12 pound king! After only 15 minutes on the water! The picture of me holding that fish is soooo good. I am literally grinning ear to ear on that one. We ended up with four kings that day, and a new level of my fishing addiction was born!

My brother and I usually can be found fishing Lake Michigan anywhere from Racine to Michigan City in the same 16.5' Sylvan Backtroller, depending on where the bite is looking good when we're able to get out. We also spend some time fishing from shore, when the situation warrants. We still also get out on other lakes/ponds/rivers/etc. as well. I've always been a multi-species angler; so anything is fair game in my book!
