We used to catch a few small Pike in the creeks accidentally when targeting salmon in spring and fall. Hey Dirty, to your point about plastics and Pike, I have the proof! LOL. My brother caught this gator on Pine Lake this spring when we were drop-shotting for bass. I had to fold him almost in half to get it to fit in the bass net.

haha nice! Definitely can get pike on plastics, just easier with reaction / loud baits especially in zero vis water the ditch. I remember I had just gotten to lake of the woods, dumped the boat in the water and shot off to an island. First cast with a 3" tube for smallies and my line suddenly goes limp. I grabbed another rod with a muskie spinnerbait and proceeded to catch a 40" pike. He had my tube with him lol.....
