I would venture to say there would be a small gentlemens wager involved. The point would be to have fun and get together though.

The hardest part about doing a perch rally is the weather as it drastically affects if the perch are around or not.

Maybe we could do one in the late summer and one in the fall / winter. Mid nov through mid dec can be an excellent time to perch but that is of course extremely weather dependent since alot of north winds roll in and turns the water to chocolate milk.

Sounds like a great idea count me in.

I would fish a perch event. Count me in.

Portage chamber of commerce needs to bring back perch festival but in mid July , They used to have a one day tournament .

After some discussion, the perch rally's will be impromptu with likely 3 days notice or less. It all depends on weather etc. so stay tuned. Whenever we decide to have one it will be announced on the site, a mass email will be sent out, and individual members will be contacting other members. Ultimately we want to do it when perch are in and the weather / wave conditions are good. In the future this could occur 1 to 4 times per year and happen anywhere from March thru December.

The Salmon tournaments will also likely occur this way starting next year. We all tend to fish when the conditions are good anyway, we might as well have a get together on these optimal days.
