I use sorta same thing 3/4-1 ounce weight on bottom go up 18-24” basically tie on a walleye crawler harness with 1 hook slap on a minnow or shrimp and go!!! Making sure ur bouncing or touching bottom is KEY!!! For me anyway shallow water less line out to stay on bottom deeper water more line out etc....

I don’t know how to post pictures here but it’s basically what the fella above has. I only use one hook on Lake Michigan but have made plenty with double hooks for crawlers or a “school of minnows”. If this site has a direct message feature feel free to reach out if you’re interested!

Thanks for the reply. I have been tying up a sabiki style rig with red hooks 12and 18" above my sinker.
Make for a real sensitive rig. Fished alone today and caught my limit in 18 F O W inside the sand bar.
off of Beverly Shores east of the wind generator.

Soft shells or crayfish pinchers are awesome bait however just raw shrimp, and it’s dam near impossible to find em but it’s kinda a pain cuz one bite and it’s gone but minnows work too!!!! However u can usually get much bigger fish on the spinner rigs

I often try using an egg sinker of right size with a 3-way and the old mik-lurch spinners. But always seems to be a tangle mess more than it does catch fish. But when it does catch fish, yes they are larger.

I like the idea of the bottom bouncer or lindy rig and deffinetly going to try some stuff out.

I goo, prefer trolling for perch myself.

Thanks for the info!

Hey northern duck and everyone else that’s either trying to or is trolling spinners..... As I started to experiment with tying my own spinners I started using my main line for the spinner... in my case was always 8 lb trilene or now 6 lb... one thing I noticed was the thinner the line the more prone u r to reel in a birds nest on the end of the line!!!! Super tangled spinner and line all the way to the weight. However if u tie with a stiffer line or heavier whichever u prefer You will have less or noo tangled messes on the end of the line
I have been using 8 lb flouro or 10lb and seemed to really help also Walmart has pairs of bottom bouncers we used 1 ounce today and we stayed with bottom contact very well at about 1 Mile an hr

Brother nature this might be a tip for ur article.
