There has been a little more information out there on this big laker. DNR figures that according to the fin clip that this fish was stocked somewhere in the 70's. So if this big boy was stocked in 1975 it is 41 years old. I wonder what it has eaten in 40+ years?

Hey Lickety, heck with what it has eaten...can you imagine the pollutants in that fish?!! Yikes. All the bottom-rubbin' he did his entire life he has to have some pretty good PCB levels by now... ha ha!

All jokes aside, I always hear from people that say "I can't believe you eat the fish from Lake Michigan..." and blah blah blah. I tell them with salmon, if they are that unsafe to eat after 4 years of life, I'd say we have much bigger problems to look at considering our local water source! But when it comes to greasers, that is definitely a fish worthy of a health discussion considering how long they live. Either way, didn't mean to steal the thunder here: what a cool fish.
