Great report! The fishing on the MI side is just fantastic right now...was up in South Haven over the weekend and there was some of the most impressive boxes I've seen up there in a long time. Most boats had 10-20 fish, all silver, and almost ALL KINGS. I was shocked. My charter friend was 14-20-something, and 11 of them were solid kings. The best part was, fish are coming shallow too there, in 50-80ft. We tried perch fishing instead, and brought the wrong gear. Definitely messed up on that one not bringing the trolling rods up, but we didn't know. There must have been a tourney going on, because I saw that huge boat Break Time run from the South Haven pack up to St. Joe and fish Saturday to fish for some larger 4 year olds it sounded like.
I hung out at the fish cleaning station for about a 1/2 hour and all the silver fish coming in were just jam-packed full of bait too. Awesome to see. Speaking of bait, the Indiana DNR meeting is this week right, in MC? Don't want to miss that...we definitely need to get everyone out that we can for that meeting and publicize it on this site.
