Anyone heading out?

I’m off work and would like to get the boat in the water for my first trip this year. Just trying to get an idea if others will be out and in the area. Not sure where I’m going to launch out of yet.

Looks like a perfect day and with good reports coming from the IL/IN state line all the way around to Michigan, I'd say just go to your favorite slip and slide and head out.
I'm heading for EC. Mostly because I belong to the yacht club there and they have indoor plumbing for pre-trip necessities.

Yes it does seem like the weather will be Favorable. Might head out of pastricks or make the drive to portage. I’d like to get the kiddo on some fish.

So have the fish moved out off shore now? Planning on coming up Wednesday just like to know where to start. Leaving out of portage or East Chicago if needed

Looking like pastrick is the launch of choice. Good luck to you all tomorrow.

The fish are not offshore. Start fishing as soon as you leave the marina or to the mouth of the ditch. They are still at the surface, too. Most of the fish I've been catching are on shallow running crankbaits with no weight.

Both boats in Michigan City today were hooking up with fish before they got their lines set clearing the harbor
