I launched out of st joe for the first time today. Set down straight west of the pier head in 100 fow. Turned back north east when I hit 120 with no bites. When I hit 95 fow all hell broke loose until about 80 fow. We wended up taking 11 kings 2 steel head and 2 coho for our 3 man limit. We caught many other coho and one small 2 year old king that were released to try and catch more big kings. But I had some bad luck early on with a rigger going down and had a triple up kings that destroyed 4 copper lines which were the most productive rods. But I had extras but they were all a little on shallow side but at least we were still fishing. It was a great day on the water and I would do it all over again.

Nice job making it work while limping. It’s easy to get tangled with a big King let alone 3. Where did you launch today?

That’s where we launched also. Just curious if there are other places to launch.

Tim said there was another down the street somewhere. Considering this was the first time I launched out of st joe once I seen that boat ramp I didn’t really want to drive around looking the the other one.

The best launch is the St. Joseph city launch, which is directly across the river from the Benton Harbor launch by Tackle Haven. It's $5 to launch, is super clean, and has a great fish cleaning station and really nice bathrooms

Not that the Benton Harbor launch is bad or anything, but there's no fish cleaning station
