For our first tourney, I would classify it as very successful. We had a total of 7 boats and a good time - hopefully more next time. Ultimately it was a close battle between Reel Distraction and Lickety Split- both went northwest and were very successful. Reel Distraction took the overall win while Split took the big fish.

Results can be seen at the tournament page. Click on results: www.thesouthend.org/index.php/sevents/south-end-tournaments

The page will eventually be updated with some pictures etc.

Great Job guys!

Also here is my report for the evening. Worked 70-100 FOW due north of the ditch in Michigan waters. Marked a reasonable number of fish but not great. Varied speeds and direction but could not get anything to stick. Went 1 for 5 with the one being a laker. We took no hits after dark.

It was great meeting you guys.

It was nice meeting everyone as well. Unfortunately we didn't get even one bump; our intent was to go to the wreck but being I have never been there - it was too long of a run with the waves at the time. We were pretty much North East of the ditch (mainly N) in 50 to 70 FOW. We marked several fish but nothing biting. Was a great night out on the lake after sun set but not a great night for fishing. At least we had several nice fireworks shows to entertain us.

Congrats to the crew of Reel Distraction on their first place win.

We tried to give you a run for the money, it was close. Had nightmares of the couple that got away.

Big fish hit a meat rig off a rigger tight to bottom in 57ft. the rest were mixed dodger fly and spoon fish.
Was really nice out there as the wind just kept laying down more and more.

Nice to meet the rest of you guys, and hope this is one of many tournaments that we can get together on.

Ed :)

Congrats to both Reel D on the win and Ed on the big fish. Sorry I missed the weigh in - took us a bit longer to get in than we expected and we went to the last minute hoping to at least get a hit. Was nice to meet most people at the start and sorry I didn't formally meet some of the others at the end of the night. Looking forward to the next tourney

It was a great night for fishing. Started fishing at 52–22. Dodger fly combos took most of the fish. We ended up landing 10 fish.

Sounds like it was a good time wish i would have been there but fishing at night is a different game not my favorite. Boat is to small for that bad enough in daylight

I was working midnights otherwise I would have thrown my hat into the ring and given it a try, having never fished beyond sunset. I drove through in hopes of catching a glimpse of the weigh-in and mistakenly asked a group over by K dock if anyone had caught anything. While they did not know what I was talking about they thought the concept of a moonlight tournament was excellent, so kudos to whomever thought it up.
