Considering dragging the boat up along the West coast of Michigan next week. Can anyone provide any good intel on where the bite seems to be as well as the best forecasts to look at for wave projections? Windfinder is showing lighter wind and sub 2' seas for the next few days at Grand Haven.

Any other ideas or resources would be GREATLY appreciated.

Did you see Michigan DNR page. Pretty much same as South end. Silver mixed with Lakers.

I have not paid attention all that much but it seems south haven has been good. My thoughts would be South Haven, Holland, Grand Haven.

As of now I would think Mon & Tues look on the rougher side up there, while Weds - Fri looks much better.

It "looks" like there are more Kings being caught further north. I've been skunked my last two trips out of Portage so I'm trying to decide how far afield I want to go.

Thanks,

I fished out of south haven last weekend the king bite was pretty good there . 120 130 fow North of the pier heads was best for us . We boated 15 kings & lost few others . Lots of lake trout there too .

If you choose to go to Holland, two things. First look for the historical marker which memorializes the city as the Birthplace of Capt. Mike (Brother Nature) Schoonveld.... Always a busy attraction so mind your social distancing.

Second, stop by the New Holland Brewing Company and order a pint of Dragon's Milk. Arguably the best beer I ever drank.... If ever there was a brew which made me fall off the wagon, that would be it.

One other advantage is when the evil winds blow (as is common on the Michigan side) you can fish for gaspergoos in Lake Macatawa.

Haven't had that chili stuff. #1) I normally don't like "adulterated" beer like the cherry stuff served in Door County or worse, Summer Shandy. First time I tasted that, I asked the bartender if I was in a gay bar. #2) I stopped all all alcohol consumption four or five years ago for health reasons. Perhaps it was concocted after I made the switch to O'Doules.

Absolutely love Dragons Milk! I have not noticed the historical marker there before, can I find it with Google Maps or is the exit marked well on the freeway?
