Anybody use a Dreamweaver Elberta Clip'r before? Picked one up and for the life of me I can't figure out how to attach it. Once I have the boat I can go hands on but my imagination just isnt making it happen.

I think I was on a boat maybe 20 years ago that used them. Didn't get any bites on it - (not the skipper's fault) - but I looked it up again on the DW site just now and remember thinking then, as now, "Seems like a rubber band would be much easier." Some guys, it seems, enjoy using complicated systems to accomplish rather mundane tasks. But, you've got one, by all means give it a try. If you like it, take a couple of photos, write it up, I'll put it in GLA magazine and you'll get a free subscription.

Been using pinch pad for years on my fix sliders. Here’s a pic. Never tried rubber bands. Mike

Sliders often out-produce spoons behind ball.  Typically fish identical spoons (or mag. behind ball with standard on slide) so at least know what pattern hit on the missed strikes
 

I'm not an artist, as you can see.  Rubber band cinched on the main line up from where it attaches to the release. The slider leader's snap swivel goes around the main line and through the rubber band to keep it from sliding up or down.  Fish on the slider will pull the band down to the end. When there's a fish on the down line, the slider needs to be removed when the fish gets close to the boat.  

Since I use rubber bands as a downrigger release, I always have a supply on board.  Buy 'em by the pound - #16.

I do what BN describes but I don’t attach the slider swivel to the rubber band.  Rather just attach the rubber band to the mainline above the slider which stops the slider from rising above that point.  Works great.  A small pinch pad style release on the main above the slider will work also.
