Went out with Mike & Bob again today. Kept 10 coho. Some were close to 4lbs. Threw back a 6lb brown & 2 small coho. We missed at least 6. J9 fire tiger was the best lure today followed by perch tail dancer & thin fin. Hope we can get out soon, but who knows with the storm a brewin?

Got out today and had a very slow start to the morning. Fished in and out, up and down, just couldn't get anything to go.
Ended up further west from Bob and Steve. Then we hit an area were we couldn't keep them off. I took all thifins off and went to f-11 rapalas and f-9 jointed, that seemed to be what they wanted. Ran 50ft. leads and a few times as I was setting a line into a planer board clip, the fish would pull it out of my hands. Ended up with a 2 man limit but probably had that many on that we lost. Heard of a few kings showing up lately. We had something hit and scream the reel and double the rod, then nothing. I mean nothing the bait was gone and line looked like it was cut clean. Best color was the tequila sunrise HBO custom paint.

First day I got a chance to fish the planer board system with the big boards. Started the day with 26 clips had 4 left when we finished. Captain Mike- Why didn't you hit me over the head sooner, fishing the planer mast system was a riot. Allowed me to fish lighter gear for these fish which was a big plus and alot of fun. Took alittle getting used to, but don't think I could go back to pulling inline boards!!!!!!

Way to go Ed. What a rush when they bite like that. That must have been the 30lb King that ripped my lure off my swivel!!! Steve

Thanks Steve,

it has been a good spring so far. Water is warming slowly but close to 40 degree mark in a few spots. Fish seem to be more active then last time out and they are on the move. Some of the really hot areas of only a few weeks ago are not so hot now.

Couldn't believe how high the ditch is. Usually when its been this high there has been strong current also. Water seemed pretty slack for as high as the water is.

Just looked at the long range forecast, doesn't look good for awhile. :pinch:

Way to go Steve , Ed , Bob and everyone else who made it out Tuesday and thanks for the reports. I couldn't get back out we had to go to the Indiana Revenue office . THEY took my last quarterly payment and put it in someone else's account! But we had to prove that we made the payment. That wasted half a day but all done. Rudey
