I have never had a slipped boat. Currently have a Statos 326XF that I trailer. The primary function of the boat would be of course fishing, and secondary would be recreation. I would keep it at Marina Shores.

Prior to my current boat, I have owned 3 bass boats.

couple other things that deserves mentioning
most all the newer boats that have efi motors will have a computer history saved in the computer
when purchasing a used motor a scan of the computer can give you a accurae history of faults and failure's
this report should be part of the purchase agreement
never buy a used boat with out a good sea trial
most guys would not dream of buying a used car with out a test drive boat puchase should be trated in the same way
surveys are a great idea just make sure you dont have to get two of them
make certain your insurance co will accept the surveyor you are using topurchase the boat will be ok for their insurance coverage

If it was a fishing only vessel a hewes craft might be an option. Wife wants something "pretty" with plenty of comfort. I will be looking at a glass boat.

We fished with a 27' sportscraft hard top in Erie, that boat was a tank, lots of room for fishing and cover.

The other boat which was my favorite was a 23.'Pursuit walk around the hull on this was awesome for cutting waves. But still reasoanable to pull. But then again the western basin of Erie was a different monster than Michigan.
