What's the superstition about change in your pocket? I remember a guy who would flip pennies over the transom to try to "buy a bite."

A long time ago me, my dad and younger brother went fishing on one of my dad's friends boat. I was only about 10 years old and after my dad and his friend got all of the lines set the asked me if i knew how to net a fish. I told him no and my dad's friend helped me dip the net for practice. Within 5 minutes we caught our first fish and he let me net the fish (it was pretty cool). I have been out with my son's and there have been a few times where i forgot to dip the net and we have gotten skunked.. I always try to remember to dip the net after we get the lines set... There have also been times where I have dipped the net and we have gotten skunked ... funny the things you remember as a kid ...

About the change in your pocket. Have you ever held change (pennies) in your hand? They get a funny smell to them after a few minutes. I sure can't remember who or where I heard this. It seems that it was as a kid that my grandfather & dad used to say to me. But it goes in line right after the banana question. LOL

One vote for even, one for odd. I sometimes go for fractions, like "set that diver out 28 1/2 feet." Maybe that's "covering the bets."

Anyone have "clothing" superstition? Lucky hat? Special socks? Anything in-between? How about any food products as bad as bananas, or something which counteracts bananas.?

I once caught a lake trout with a rock the size of a jawbreaker in it's belly. I carried it in my pocket as a lucky piece the rest of the season. It was at least a good conversation piece. Don't know where it is, now.
