It was great to see everyone today. We had a nice day out there but the fishing was tough. Minimal bites and alot of small fish. Congrats to Mark Melton on the win!

What species were all the small fish? This is like spring coho sized specimens. Just curious. More curious as to where they were caught. I'm not planning to chase them. This is the "trophy" time of year but on a day like today, a three pounder is a major feat. Way to go, win-place and show guys.

We had 3 shorts today. between 65 and 80ft. 04 to 55 down. All 3 were small kings.

Thanks to Jeff and team Southender for organising the tournament yesterday, all season, and managing this site. Everybody on here makes me a better fishermen by posting their experiences and advice.

We caught 8 Kings in 65-80'. 53 degree water at about 55' down. Tried to quickly release all but two which were clearly not going to make it. While mortality rates are supposedly pretty high, it's 100% in my fish box so figured it was worth a try as every small King is pretty important right now.

Great to put some names with faces yesterday and thanks again!
