Is Stans Bait shop still in Hammond or East Chicago where they moved too?

Stan's is on Hoffman in north Hammond. The last couple times I went there they counted everything while you waited.Ummm

If this is the same Stan that was on the Hammond/Highland border he always did and I am talking 25 years ago +. Hey even if they count' em they are a vanishing breed. For those are old enough to remember the list of old bait shops..... Great Lakes Tackle. ( Whiting/Robertsdale), Ray's Tackle Box(Whiting), Westforth's (Merriville/Gary), Great Lakes Tackle that was on Franklin street in downtown Michigan City(not sure of the name), the tackle /bait store that was by House of Pizza in the Woodmar section of Hammond, the bait shop on US 41 just south of Cal Park in the Southeast Side of Chicago and there is more that have vanished. You guys get my drift??? It's a vanishing bred replaced by Bass Pro and Cabala's and such. So you spend a couple bucks for bait, what does a Mercury, Honda , or Evenrude motor cost. Just my 3 cents. One more thing, I have a camper near North Webster, Indiana north of Warsaw and am blessed with quite a few bait shops in the area. I may buy some hooks or panfish tube jigs when I am there. Sure they may be a couple cents cheaper at Bass Pro, but support the little guy. KJK

That was Mik Lurch by House of Pizza and Vets by Cal Park. Only Slez's and Stans in the area now. Sad to see all the bait shops gone.....
