It was a scorcher out there! Probably crossed paths at some point, what kind of boat were you fishing in?
We ended up with 2 drum on spoons, lost a smaller steelhead when it hit the dipsy so hard it broke the snubber (must have been worn out or damaged). Got to watch that one dance out of the water spitting the hook and a spindoctor / fly combo while I reeled in my dipsy... Managed to box one decent steelhead, guessing around 8 - 10 lbs. which hit a Mag silver spoon with a purple stripe on it on a 150' copper. Same setup got nailed again about 3 minutes later but the fish spit the hook.
The fish we boxed had smaller egg sacks with small eggs, so guessing it was waiting a while to run still? Meat was pink and firm.
Good to know they are out there, just not as thick as I'd hoped. Hopefully rain holds off and more and more show up staging near shore.
