I saved the cooler shot in my special "cooler shot" file. Hopefully,. by the end of the season we'll have some with walleyes, lakers and even perch. Don't know how I'll use them, just yet.
The other photos were really good as well. A couple of tips which River Rat can use or not.
#1 - I find I catch more fish on flies when I include a hook on it. I've fished no hook flies (accidentally) a few times, but never had much success with them.
#2 - Do what works for you, but no need to run a snap swivel ahead of your RTs. Obviously, it will work some or even most of the time. I fished one day right next to a friend who was in the same area, same lures, same everything and I caught like 10 times more fish and when comparing everything, the only difference was he was using snap swivels.
I do see you go with hi-vis line and clear leader -- good going! I bet you love it! Try some of the Fluorescent yellow and orange colors, as well. The Big Game Solar works, well, but the color is just "surface" applied and will fade long before the line is worn out. The yellow and orange hi-vis is "molded" into the line material.
The South End provides useful resources and discussion forums for those that fish The South End of Lake Michigan for Salmon, Steelhead, Perch, and Bass as well as elsewhere in the Region and Chicago area.
