Fished 9 rods from #4 to pavilion and back. 46 fow was best. 20-30 for down was the target at 2.6 speed at ball. Surface was 55 degrees while 30 down was between 54-51 degrees. Fish wanted mag spoons and 8" flashers.  8 for 13 (2 kings, 1 steelhead rest coho) lost our biggest king on a 165 towards end of morning  tons of bait. Fog near ditch worst i can ever remember.

#4 is the near north east corner of the Indiana harbor when coming out of the ditch (portage). The #2 is the far east end of that same wall. The pavilion is the Indiana Dunes State Park pavilion with the amenities for the beach goers. There is a map section on this site that helps spell it out as well.

Nice job!  I'll wholeheartedly second your comment regarding the fog Wednesday!  It was thicker than Pea Soup coming back into Portage in afternoon!  Relied on Radar & Chart Plotter to get us back to Port.

Ran 2 DR's, 2 Dipsey's and 2 Flatlines with clip on weights.  Used Spoons, deep diving crankbaits, D/F flies; varyied colors, trolling speeds with no success.  The only thing I did not run was Meat Rigs account of not having any. Markng fish like crazy.....see 1st Picture.

When you get done laughing at the fish graphics, you'll see we were on the fish.  My wife changed the fish graphic last year, and I cannot get my arches back. They are no longer an option on my Appearance Menu.  Any suggestions?

We did boat a 22" Coho caught on a DR 35' down towing a Spin Doctor and Orange/Yellow/Brown Peanut Fly.  Had to get 2 Alewives out of his mouth in the way of removing the treble.  Thought this might be a sign! Put one on a Meat Rig with a Spin Doctor and sent it down to 35'.  Turned out to be more of a detour!  At least we weren't Skunked.  Another boat came in after us with identical results.  Did I miss the Memo indicating the fish were on a Fasting Break this week?

I believe you were cruising the beach going east when I was trolling west by the donut area... at least it was better on the lake but the mouth was out of control bad.

Yes, that was us!  You were the only other boat we saw all day, except the Ore Boat parked in the fog!  We saw you heading back West!
I just got back into Salmon Fishing last year, after a 25-yr hiatus.  From what you read, any tips on what I may be doing wrong?

Without being out there with you its hard to tell. I will say I usually start with a mix of things and change it up as a pattern shows. For example on Wednesday I started with a 8" flasher and regular fly on a dipsey and a 00 dodger and peanut fly on another. I caught 2 fish on the 8" before the 00 was touched so I swapped the 00 for another 8" flasher and caught a fish on it. Another example is I ran mag spoons and regular spoons. Bites were coming on mags only so eventually I had all mags on my spoon rods. Each day can be a different thing so you have to be ready to adapt. Have a fish hawk helps a ton as well along with multiples of the same baits or at least close in pattern and size.
