Your wife will take off with the boat and you wont see them any time soon!
That's why i buy my PU trucks with a stick shift and no power steering.

Are you losing some faith and love in the Hondas? I have used Honda atvs forever and they never seem to change either. It seems Honda's mantra is "if it ain't broke we won't try to make it better as long as people keep buying our stuff". I know they are capable of making their engines lighter and more stylish. Everybody loves eye candy and new things.

just gor back from Lake Erie doing some final walleye fishing. There was a ton of the new G2 Evinrudes out there. I talked to a few of the locals and all they had to say was good things about them. they said they couldn't believe how easy on gas they were.

Ed, did the users speak of the g2's trolling capabilities? Any problems mentioned?

Most are using the G2 just as a runner to get from one spot to another quickly. They travel at time much more then we do, going from one spot to another til they find the fish that are active.
No problems from what the locals were saying. There was alot of smaller boat charters that have made the switch, and they had etec kickers along with there set up. Seeing BP going to a 10 year warranty is unbelievable. And thats what we were told by a charter out there. He said how can you go wrong. Many of them are putting in a few years and selling their whole rig and buying new again. But, like we were told they run alot of double charters outthere. So having the G2 is a gas savings,they could go to more horses per weight of engine, and they were reliable. They sell them off and they still have a warranty. We we told that the new G2 had other features that none of the others have.

If Frank Martin reads this one I'm sure he can chime in and explain better then I can on the new auto planning system they have. Boat will automatically plane its self out as you speed up and also as you slow down. Or you simply can control it in the manual mode.

not loosing any enthusiasm for honda products but for a change a made in America (sturnavent wisconsin) Evinrude is putting the yamaha and honda product lines on notice ! (better get out of bed and get to work on the product line >
would you buy a car with out power steering or auto transmishion ?
you probably wont buy a out board with out it either after you have driven the new g-2 with power steering or auto trim
i am going to set up a 150 g-2 and a 15 e-tec kicker for demo this spring
and yes we still sell a lot of honda and plan on doing so moving fwd honda will have to match these offerings sooner than they want now that the Evinrude products have this offering literally makes driving a boat as easy as any car
as for your trolling question its not good for any big motor 4 stoke included to troll dead on the idle pin
will it destroy them immediately NO will they troll down Yes if you have a boat you are trolling on the slowest idle speed it will go for hours on end . it will reduce the life of that motor if you have to bump the idle up just a little this greatly reduces the effects of slow trolling why not put a kicker on will troll mid rpm range put ton of hours on a motor when it fails will cost 2-3000.00 bucks to replace VS a motor that might cost 20-30000.00 to replace
I troll all day long with my Honda 225s at 750 to 1000.00 regular oil changes and other recommended maint. with out any issues
come on out be glad to show you how this stuff works and what all the trade offs are
we try to keep this stuff affordable for every one often this is fixing a existing motor but at some point its going to cost less to upgrade even some times buy new
