It’s not quite as rare as a total solar eclipse, but my work schedule has afforded me a few days off coninciding with rising temps and dropping water levels. Wednesday I hit an upper creek area in the afternoon and the water was still high and very stained but dropping and ice free. I wasn’t expecting anything more than a scouting trip, but was able to scratch out a couple bites from some recetly defrosted winter hold overs. Up sized plugs in bright finishes fished very slowly in the deepest pools got their attention. Didn’t take any pics.

Yesterday, I decided to drop down to a section closer to the lake hoping to find some fresh fish coming up. I armed my self with a size 11 kwikfish in chrome/pink.

First deep pool drew a blank. I moved up to a little quieter run with some wood and walking pace current. After about ten minutes of creeping my plug down run, this little dude hit. He wass only about 20 inches, almost thought he might be a coho with how chrome he was and the size of the fish.
I worked a few more pools and found some nice fish willing to bite, tryed a few different plugs and worked a spinner through some a couple spots, but that big pink/chrome kwikfish got all the love.

Very nice, I wish I could still do that but I'm just getting too old to make those tough walks.
