Primarily lake trout has been the catch out of Michigan city today. 110 to 120 foot from the 55's to the 07's produce fish off the bottom. Some steelhead taken. Kings and Coho were scarce. Did not see any stringers on the pier when we left this morning.

I started in the 06 area today at 85; and marked a ton up to 100' or so. I couldnt get anything to take but I dont know jack about actually targeting lakers because I have never done it. I got a dodger / spin n glow just off bottom and gave up on it after 45 minutes which was about when we stopped marking them north of 100'

I've been wondering what we should run to try and target a laker. I know you need to be down low. we pretty much always run one of the riggers down pretty close to the bottom with a spoon. are there any certain colors that work good for lakers or should we run something else???. we have never caught a laker, hoping to get the first one in the boat this year.

Usually have luck with a trash can dodger size 0 and a spin in glow in green close to the bottom. I have never caught anything except a laker on this rig though. Its pretty specific.
