I was just thinking since we have to pay that $12 for that Portage Port authority sticker maybe we should see if they can put a live cam at the end of burns ditch by the portage lakefront walkway

What do you have to get a sticker for at Portage? I have launched there in the past and only had to pay the launch fee, just curious if that is something new or if it is for something else.

A part of your launch fee is supposed to go to the Portage Port authority. I bought the years pass at Doynes and had to buy an additional sticker for the Portage Port authority to use the ditch for an additional $12. I have tried to call the portage Port authority but I keep getting a marina on the ditch.

You can buy a season pass for Portage Marina or pay the daily fee. Portage residents are one price - don't know what that is. Non-res is $150 and for me it's $200 just because I'm a pest - at least that's what the ladies told me. I do get one free piece of peppermint candy each day, however. Just depends on how often you launch there whether it's worth it. I'm up to 30 some, so I'm money ahead and have had plenty of peppermints.

I've been wanting to get the season pass as I'd be well ahead financially, but there is seldom anyone there in the spring when Coho starts and I'm already well in by the time I get there with someone in the office...

That said, how does the Portage launch identify a paid pass? Is it a sticker on your boat? your trailer? your vehicle?

At Doynes they give you a sticker to put on your trailer or leave it on the dash of your truck. I don't know about Portage Marina

At Portage Public (now Sammy M.) Marina, it's a sticker that goes on your trailer

As of now, the yearly ‘pass fee’ to launch out of Portage is now $170, up $20 from the $150. Seems like everyone wants to get a piece of the fisherman’s wallet
