We are doing the bash bash tournament this weekend for warriors first. I've never really targeted smallmouth before. And tips tricks or locations anyone could give would be a great help.

I am also fishing this tournament. It was crazy last year with 5-7' waves, two boats sunk, and several trolling motors were lost to the lake. This year the weather looks like it will cooperate better. We were pretty much reduced to fishing the ditch last year, but there are a lot of large mouth in the ditch. All in all, it was still a good time.

My small mouth fishing on Lake Michigan is limited, so I don't have much in the "where" department. We went out trying to find fish around Portage earlier this week, and all we came up with was a foul hooked perch.

As far as presentations, it's pretty much the same as fishing for largmouth. Soft plastics dragged across the bottom, crank baits, spinnerbaits, or drop shotting.

Probably run into you tonight at Bass Pro this evening.

Thanks 4-shore. I heard about the boats sinking last year didn't realize it was for this tournament. I'm sure I'll have my southend gear on so if you see me come say hi.

Stopped by the weigh in at bass pro after St. Joe tourney to chat with cruise and met 4-shore as well. Mr. Bobby B took the tourney. Could not believe there were only 14 boats. They have got to do some better marketing for that thing.

A little disappointed we didn't have anything to weigh in. But as my sun baked brain just realized I haven't fished any bass tournaments since I was 16. That was 20 years ago. Damn salmon and steelhead have made my bass skills a little rusty. Lol but if it was a Drum tournament we would have got 1st place, we caught 5 of those suckers. And yes I agree with Jeff the turnout was poor. Got to meet 4-shore always a pleasure to meet a fellow southender. And Jeff (Dirty) even gave me a beer what a guy. So all in all still a fun time.
