New guy here posting like a newby
Lake Michigan has been great for Crappies, Bass (large and small mouthed) and some nice Bluegills, pumpkin seed etc...

Today I got tired of chucking a KO wobbler and Mepps Long Cast Spinner and so I ran down by the boat docks and got smacked by this big un.
I was throwing a Bass Pro Shops Hellgrammite on a ned rig jig of one brand or the other.
Not a huge bass but big enough to make ya smile when it tugs on your line.

7-23-23 (Sunday)
Since no perch are anywhere to be found at this time, Brad (son) and I launched Hammond headed to Cal river for some smallies.
Worked around mouth caught a few.
Headed back to slips between 100th and 106th. Like to hit this area on Sundays, Little if no tug or barge traffic. Only saw one tug moving all day. Sweet. Wish it would be that way during winter perching (LOL).
Did well on the west slip, didn't try east side. Never have luck over there.
Worked our way back to Crowley's and under the train draw, the old wood structure (east side) in water ended up to be the hot stop of the day.
Ended up with 18 smallies. Missed few before netting. Biggest 2lbs (few of them). Great fun day.

Need perch anyone find them yet?

Be safe out there.
