Went south for a week to warm up but it snowed a few days all so.
Lake is the lowest its been in 25 yrs I'm told.
We only fished 2 days.
8 crappie on the last day was our best.
Some crappie, perch and sauger were caught my members of the group.

You drove right by my house on your trip south. I can show you a few places to go on Barkley also.

Looks like you had about the same luck as I had when I went down to Lake Norfork in Ark the week of 4/1. Snow storm on the way down and only really two nice days of fishing although we did go out almost every day. Cut the trip short by one day when I woke up to 27 degrees and an inch of snow on the truck. We ended up getting 7 crappie all ranging from 11 to 14 inches (all but two were in the 12" range). We caught a few others but min on Norfork is 10" so anything below 11 I threw back. We go to Kentucky lake every June/july but I have never found the Crappie (although I never really targeted them much). Nice job on the Crappie - I am hoping to maybe find some this year when we go down but figure I will be fishing pretty deep to get them.

Guys need to fish Kentucky and Barkley in September and October. The fishing is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious then. Bass and stripers are in the jumps then and sauger can be caught on the river drop offs trolling deep running crank baits.

I thought I already posted this so if it goes twice - I'm sorry. We were at KY lake two years ago in mid-sept and may be going back this sept. We did good with small stripers or white bass but we stayed in kind of close. We stay near Paris Landing so not sure if that is better or worse then where you fish. How big do the Stripers get on KY lake and what do you use to catch the big ones of you dont mind sharing.?
