Thanks Big Ed! Our boats are almost exactly the same so this gives me a good idea of how to rig and what I might need to do so. Would you be willing to tell me about how much you have spent on the downriggers, trees, etc?

The riggers I got used for $75 each - I have 4 now (two are not used but have used for some parts) - if you watch the manuals go for around that often each season.

The trees were $180 each new www.highseasgear.com/store#!/Triple-Adju...96/category=20769024 they were a Christmas gift so cost me nothing. The traxtech rails I was given from a buddy who upgraded. Traxtech makes great stuff and I started with Plastic rod holder but had a king blow an entire setup off the boat - I went to all steel. Planar boards my cousin built and I made my own masts so I can take them on and off using the Alumatrac mounts. Hope this helps some and watch the classifieds on here - that is where I have gotten some good deals on equipment.

Thanks! That gives me a good idea of how to rig a smaller boat. Do you recommed a certain supplier for this equipment?

I went direct from the websites for the Highseas trees and the traxtech stuff I bought new. The other stuff was either used or I shop amazon, cabelas, bass pro, fishUSA, Calumet Marine, Slez, Northwoodsoutlet, who ever had the best price at the time.

Welcome, i just started out this year too. I run high seas trees in Cannon rails. I have the Berts ratcheting rod holders which are nice. And i picked up a pair of used downriggers from a member here. Alot of info I picked up from the guys here, any question i had was answered and helped me put together a great spring program. I had to take some time away but can't wait to get back out there.

I have a couple of the Berts ratcheting also - they are great rod holders.
