Hey Now!

New boat owner (2005 Alumacraft Navigator 185 Sport, Yamaha 150). Just recently moved back to IL from Miami (17 years) had to forget all I knew and relearn it all out there. Now i'm back and trying to remember. HA! Currently live in Will County but on the Will/Cook line. Looking to get out as much as possible with my twin boys and father. Want to get up to WI as much as possible on weekends camping/fishing with my boys but looking for a place to take them close for day tips. so far I found Wolf lake (IN), Heidecke lake, Cedar lake (IN) for close trips when LM has too much wind. Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Welcome back to IL. Shabbona can definitely be worth the drive, probably 1.5hours from where you are, but It has always been worth the trip for me.

Strip pits at Mazonia Braidwood are an option. Or Braidwood lake itself. That lake can turn up as well with some wind though.
