Bio:
Grandfather started me pan fishing when I was 6... really miss those days.
High school, after school Uncle would pick me up for some hard water pan fishing.
Received a degree in Conservation Law Enforcement from VU.
College, started to waterfowl hunt in So, IN area & doves in IL with prof.
It was my 1st hunting experience and I still go out some.
Got married, brother-in-law hooked me on deer hunting.
Fifteen years later I hooked him on long beards.
Nine years ago bought my first boat, 18ft Polar Kraft.
Before the boat, I spent 4-5 days a week hunting...now maybe 3 days a season...looks like I've come full circle back to my first love, thanks to my grandfather.
Bought the boat primarily for family pan fishing and perch on LM, converted to walleyes and fish eye tournaments.
Took my two boys for steelies on the St Joe river 2 year ago and after 18 fish boated, they've got the fever.
Currently getting educated on big water salmonoids... Caught some steel, browns, and ho's but yet to boat my first King.

Welcome to this site. I also cut down (not stopped) on hunting, but really enjoy the BIG Lake. Fishing for the silver fish seemed to be a lot tougher this year at least for me. Looking forward to your post and good luck. Rudey

Thanks Guys for the well wishes... Sorry for the very late post. Had 2 deaths in immediate family and sister was thrown/dragged from horse since I first posted. She was broken up pretty bad and I've been helping with the care of her.
MC 9/21
Fish from 7 to 13:00 est. from TC to state line. Went 0 for 3 all before 9am est... still trouble with the hand off on the boards and had 2 newbies with me. Two in 60fow and 1 in front of dnr. swt 65, but was pretty much the same all the way down to 55 fow. Lot's of bait balls just north of the breakwall in 30-40-fow, mark fish too, but everything seemed to shut down after 9am. Saw 3 people on pier but no success. Saw 3 charters head to deep water, probably after Lakers. I might get out again this weekend... then it's flipping over the rods to river fish.
Update: Flipped my rods over to river fishing "Mishawaka"... not much going on there since the lack of rain. Made 3 trips and notta. BS dam flow is only at 1800 cfw and not much better upstream, swt 58. Hope to contribute more next year from my trips on the big lake.
I can post my trips on the joe, but not sure if there'd be an interest on this site?
