Ok it can happen when you least expect it
SOME ONE GOES OVER THE SIDE
a 200lb man has just become 300 lbs
water is in the 30s 40s or even low 50s
you have less than 5 minutes to get them back in the boat before the cold paralyzes their mussels
>1 throw them a flotation device if they don't have one on
hopefully you have one ready to go with a line attached
get them to the back of the outboard that is shut off
tell them to hug the back of the motor put their feet on the prop or cav plate just above the prop
tilt motor up and drag them over the motor into the boat
immediately get them to shore and out of the wet clothes obviously in a warm environment

cold water must be respected be safe out there fill the box

I was surprised to see the Yamaha had a sticker right on it saying to use the motor to get a man overboard back on the boat. Not sure if others also have the instructions or not. Thanks for the safety note as we head into almost frozen waters.

Thanks for the tip! Really brings truth to light, in the summer I am pretty lenient but fall or spring i'm discipline if we are trolling your wearing an auto inflatable jacket on my boat I also opted for a ladder above my transduce like a fish and ski for easy access incase of an emergency. I never thought about using the trim to help someone in the boat or if your by yourself I guess using the trim buttons on your motor if equipped is genius! Thanks again!

Also to add he teather kill switch is every loan Fishermans best friend
