I am thinking about having a troll master installed on my Honda kicker. Looks like a simple install on a Merc in the video on YouTube. It looks more difficult on a remote control Honda as there were no vids just an unclear PDF on their website.
Has anyone installed one on their Honda kicker themselves? I am looking for some advice or tips on the install. Seems I have seen very few hondas out there, lots of Mercs.

I have a tohatsu which is basically a Merc but it was stupid simple. Hardest part was fishing the remote connection through the side of the boat. I think the entire job took me less than 30 minutes

The Merc looks very straight forward and easy. I will have to study the pdf again. I have to be missing something on it, the instructions seemed incomplete to me. There are decent buys out there on the units, just hoping to save some fishing cash by doing it my self. On my kicker the sweet spot 2.3 to 2.7 mph spot is difficult to maintain by bumping the throttle. It will rev up to over 3.0 or fall to 2. something. It needs the fine adjustment ability badly.

If you upload the pdf for the honda I will take a look and see if I can figure out if they missed something or maybe I can help you out since I have actually done the install.

ACTUALLY THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR COMES WITH SOME PRETTY GOOD INSTRUCTIONS

I recently finished up my Trollmaster 3 plus installation. Nothing it seems is an easy fix for me. The instruction PDF I thought sucked. Plane to Sea sent some pics of his Honda 9.9 and it was a bigger help.
I had to modify the servo bracket a bit and make a mount for the wireless transmitter. I had to move a couple of wiring harnesses and tap a hole in a pylon made into the intake manifold to mount the bracket. It came with a fuse protected power cable. The install recommended direct battery hookup but I chose to remove the fuse holder and wired to a fuse panel in the stern of the boat. Cleaner looking job plus this eliminates the constant power draw from the transmitter. The only thing i need to do yet is figure a way to mount the control pad to my helm. Maybe some type of Ram Mount.

Nice job Don. I just used Velcro to attach my control to the dash. I can take it off and use it in the stern.

I did the same as Plane to Sea......Velcro on the back of the control & dash.....works great.
