I installed two Ampere Time (now Li Time) lifepo 4 100ah batteries to run my Minnkota Terrova in the summer of 2021. I pulled them out over the weekend and ran load test on both of them. I was still able to get 100 AH out of both batteries after 2 1/2 years of steady usage and recharging. Very pleased with results, and the price has come down as well. Just a quick review in case you are considering switching - took over 100 lbs out of the front of my boat!

What are you using for a charger for these batteries?  I’m looking at getting 3 12v lithiums for a 36v trolling motor.  The Minn Kota on board charger looks like the best option to plug in after use.

I recently spent time on the internet and bought a lithium battery and charger for my boat.

1) there are 2 types of lithium batteries.  0ne type leaks to the atmosphere will catch on fire
2) different charging demands when it drops below freezing. Some lithium batteries are protected against overcharging  when its below freezing
3) need to look at battery charger. I replaced my battery charger and bought a charger suitable for lithium battery
4)The lithium battery I bought was of different size

I have 3 100ah lithiums and I use a Minnkota Precision charger. Works very well.  I have an older one,  just set it on AGM setting and do not trickle charge them- charge them up and unplug. If you haven't bought a charger yet the newer MK Precision chargers have a lithium setting.  Dual pro also makes a great charger with a lithium profile. Noco chargers also make a good charger suitable for lithium too

My batteries are all LiFePo4 technology which is quite safe compared to li-ion or li-polymer. The chargers that i am using are both Noco Genius brand. I have a 10x2 installed for my 24v Terrova, and a portable 10amp for my little boat where I have 2- 12v in parallel for my 12v Powerdrive

these batteries require at least 14.4 volts to fully charge and do need a charger made for lithium batteries

Minnkota Precision chargers made pre 2022 , while they do not have a specific lithium profile- do ,in fact, charge at 14.4 volts-for awhile, then gradually decrease on a curve. My lithiums settle at 95% after charge.....and run for over 15hrs- the Precision chargers do quite well.
